This baroque violin by Rudolf Schleipfer was built in 1962. Rudolf Schleipfer, born in 1914 worked as a workshop master in the important company Hamma & Co. – Stuttgart during his entire activity as a violin maker. As a young violin maker, Wolf-Dieter Fischer was able to learn a lot from him during his time at Hamma & Co. which was between 1966 and 1969.
Despite his many assignments as a restorer of great Italian master violins, he still found time to devote himself to the new building. He received first prize at a violin making competition in Dortmund in 1952 and an honorary diploma in the well-known quartet competition in Liège in 1954. Our baroque violin with a body length of 35.5 cm is based on a model by Stradivarius. The corpus is 19.3 cm, the neck is 12.5 cm. An excellent work by a great master, who is highly valued by connoisseurs.
