Very good bow by Nicolas Simon FR (1806 – 1864). Not much is known about this outstanding bow maker. It is assumed that the stamp addition FR has to do with his wife’s maiden name (FRébinet). His work is sometimes reminiscent of Dominique PECCATTE, but it is finer and more detailed in execution.
The head is made according to the gooseneck model (COL DE CYGNE). A very similar arc is shown in the book by Millant / Raffin
L´archet, book 2, page 160.
It is a very fine and elegant bow in which even the screw and nut are original.
With a light silver wrapping the bow has a weight of 59 grams.
The bow comes with a certifikat by Jean-François Raffin .
