{"id":25295,"date":"2017-04-06T15:59:12","date_gmt":"2017-04-06T13:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.geigen-fischer.de\/instruments\/louis-piernot-1925\/"},"modified":"2023-08-18T15:59:21","modified_gmt":"2023-08-18T13:59:21","slug":"louis-piernot-1925","status":"publish","type":"instruments","link":"https:\/\/www.geigen-fischer.de\/en\/instruments\/louis-piernot-1925\/","title":{"rendered":"Marie Louis PIERNOT c. 1925-1930"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Very good violin bow by Marie Louis <strong>PIERNOT<\/strong> (1880 \u2013 1959) from around 1925-1930.<\/p>\n<p>Louis<strong> PIERNOT<\/strong> was apprenticed to Charles Nicolas <strong>BAZIN<\/strong> and stayed at the Atelier <strong>C.N.BAZIN<\/strong> from 1892 to 1900. He then moved to Paris and worked for <strong>VIGNERON P\u00e8re<\/strong> until his death in 1905. In 1906 he moved to the violin maker L\u00e9on <strong>BERNARDEL<\/strong>, where he was employed as a bow maker until 1923. Subsequently, he opened his own studio in Paris, where he initially worked for various renowned luthiers who stamped his bows with their own names (a very common practice at the time).<\/p>\n<p>Our bow was made for Joseph <strong>TOURNIER<\/strong> (1842-1920), violin maker and dealer in Paris, and also bears his stamp <strong>&#8220;J.TOURNIER PARIS&#8221;<\/strong>. \u00a0J. Tournier was also supplied by other well-known bow makers such as Louis <strong>BAZIN<\/strong>, Louis <strong>MORIZOT<\/strong>, <strong>E. OUCHARD<\/strong> and Victor <strong>FETIQUE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The round and solid rod is made of the best pernambuco. The ebony frog has a simple eye made of mother-of-pearl. The split gusset made of silver is fastened with 2 pins, the track of nickel silver is fastened with only one pin. The leg is made of 3 parts (silver-ebony-silver) and fastened with 2 pins. The state of preservation of the arch is very good.
