Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Very good violin bow by C\u00e9lestin Emile CLASQUIN<\/strong> (1875 \u2013 1928) from around 1920.<\/p>\n

C\u00e9lestin Emile CLASQUIN<\/strong> was born in Mirecourt as the son of a violin maker. It is presumed that he learned the craft of bow making from C.N. BAZIN.<\/strong> He was conscripted as a soldier in the First World War (1914 – 1918) and became self-employed in Paris immediately after the end of the war. His bows are highly valued, they are relatively rare, as he was only self-employed for about 10 years.
\nHe worked for various violin makers, who then stamped the bows with their own names:<\/p>\n

Charles BRUGERE, T.J.HOLDER, PAQUOTTE, Marcel VATELOT, Paul SERDET<\/strong><\/p>\n

The bow is very well preserved. All metal parts are made of silver, the round Pernambuco stick is very firm, and the ebony frog is angularly shaped. The weight of the bow is 62 grams with a standard silver winding.<\/p>\n

The bow was delivered to the violin maker Paul SERDET<\/strong> and also bears his stamp.
