Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Very good violin bow by Eug\u00e8ne CUNIOT<\/strong>, called CUNIOT-HURY<\/strong> (1861-1910), from around 1905.<\/p>\n

He learned the bow maker profession from his father, Pierre CUNIOT<\/strong>. After his father’s death in 1884, he took over the family business at just 22 years old. His company had many orders, and despite the big competitor C.N.BAZIN<\/strong> in Mirecourt, CUNIOT-HURY<\/strong> employed up to seven workers around 1900.<\/p>\n

The bow is made after a model by Xavier TOURTE<\/strong> and also bears the stamp ‘Tourte.’<\/strong><\/p>\n

The round stick is made from very good Pernambuco and is very sturdy. All metal parts are made of silver. The bow weighs 62 grams.<\/p>\n

The bow comes from the estate of the well-known expert Jean-Francois RAFFIN<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
