Description
Special violin bow by Charles PECCATTE from his time at J.B. VUILLAUME.
Charles PECCATTE, a nephew of Dominique PECCATTE, learned bow-making from LENOBLE in Paris. From 1865 to 1870, he worked with J.B. VUILLAUME. Our bow was created there. A special rarity of the bow is a microphoto that can be seen in the frog eye. It shows Jean Baptiste VUILLAUME in the attire of violin makers, holding a violin. Two similar bows with microphotos of Charles PECCATTE are depicted in the book ‘The PECCATTE Family’ by Paul Childs, on page 205.
All metal parts are made of silver. The dark brown round rod is made of very good fernambuco.
The weight of the bow with a silver wrapping is 59 grams.
He is stamped with “J.B.VUILLAUME”.
