Description

Interesting violin bow by Christian Friedrich KNOPF, made around 1880.

Christian Friedrich KNOPF was the youngest son of Christian Wilhelm KNOPF (C.W. Knopf 1767-1837) from Markneukirchen.

The round stick is made of the finest Pernambuco wood and is covered with yellow shellac. All metal parts are made of silver, even the triple eye consists of silver-ebony-silver, as does the slider. The original leg is chased in silver and its back eye is made of silver with an ebony ring. The slider, which is attached with 2 pins, has the same feature.

The bow weighs 60 grams with a silver coating and is not stamped.
