Description
A very well-sounding violin by Nicolas Emile CHERPITEL (1841-1893), Paris 1873.
CHERPITEL was born in Mirecourt in 1841. He was a student of Grandjon before working at Gand & Bernardel Frères in Paris between 1859 and 1870. In 1871, he became self-employed in Paris.
The spruce wood ceiling has fine and even growth rings. The split floor has beautiful flames that slope outward. The reddish-brown transparent varnish is transparent, with beautiful wear.

Inside on the floor and ceiling. Fire stamp.
The violin is modeled after a Stradivarius and is very well preserved.
