Fine German violin by Anton Büttner from the Bavarian town of Augsburg from 1951. The violin is in perfect condition and has an original label Anton Büttner (Früher in Wien)  Augsburg 1951″

The violin is made as a copy of Guarnerius. Anton Buettner was born in Prag in 1903 and worked in Vienna from 1927 onward. Anton Buettner is known for his excellent copy work. After the second world war, he settled in Augsburg where hi died in 1974.

This violin is featured in the 2012 year book of the German violin maker association (VDG) in connection with an exhibition about Augsburg violin makers.
