Description
Very good violin bow by Eugène CUNIOT, called CUNIOT-HURY (1861-1910) from the period around 1900.
He learned the trade of bow maker from his father Pierre CUNIOT. After his father’s death in 1884, he took over the management of the family business at the age of only 22. His company had many orders and despite the big competitor C.N.BAZIN in Mirecourt, CUNIOT-HURY employed up to seven people around 1900.
The bow is built according to a model by Xavier TOURTE and also bears the stamp “Tourte”.
The round stick is made of very good pernambuco and is very firm.
All metal parts are made of silver. The weight of the bow is 60.5 grams.
