Description

Excellent violin bow by Jacob EURY (1765 – 1848) from around 1820.

Jacob EURY was born in Mirecourt in 1765. It is not exactly clear where he learned his profession and when he moved to Paris.

However, based on his work, it can be assumed that he had contact with Francois Xavier TOURTE.

Made of the best pernambuco wood, the angular stick of this bow by Jacob EURY is very firm and elastic. Overall, this bow is truly magnificent and in many ways comes very close to the work of his famous contemporary Francois Xavier TOURTE.

It weighs 59 grams with a normal silver winding.
